Crash Wall Design

The feature of crash wall is offered through LEAP Bridge Concrete. Typically, a you need to first define the crash wall in LEAP Bridge Concrete, as shown in the screen shot in which a Crash Wall Footing is selected and defined at the step 2 of 3 during the ABC wizard.

In the Substructure module, you may proceed with the analysis and design of crash wall defined in LEAP Bridge Concrete.

Under the Loads tab, select load type CT (Vehicular Collision Forces), and specify user defined impact force in Crash Wall tab in the window of Loads: Load data.

Under the Column tab, select the radio button of Crash Wall, then obtain the design of vertical steel reinforcement.

A typical design report of the vertical steel reinforcement is shown in the screen shot.

Under the Footing tab, obtain the design of horizontal steel reinforcement in both crash wall and footing cap. A typical design of crash wall combined with footing cap is shown in the following screen shots.
